Sonakshi Sinha set to star in Judwaa sequel

By Hindustan Times

Sonakshi Sinha’s career up to now was an enviable one, what with hits (Dabangg in 2010 and now Rowdy Rathore) in quick succession that made it to the R100-crore club.

Next for her is another big-budget film, Joker, being directed by Shirish Kunder. But at the same time as she juggles her multiple A-list projects, now we have discovered that she was confirmed for an additional major project — a sequel to Judwaa (1997) so as to star Saif Ali Khan.

Rumours was rife as to if Sonakshi may be doing the film. However, it appears she was finalised once the theory came up. “They (Sonakshi and the filmmakers) haven’t had discussions recently, since they’re all busy. Sonakshi, however, is confirmed to star as one of the most two heroines within the film. She is like family to producer Sajid Nadiadwala (who has also roped her in for Kick, starring Salman Khan),” says an insider.

While Nadiadwala, who’s holidaying in London, was unavailable for comment, Sonakshi says, “I can only say that we’re in talks about it, but nothing have been confirmed yet.” Director Sajid Khan will begin shooting his film in January-February next year. The main points of the sequel to the 1997 Salman Khan-film are expected to be finalised around December.

At present, Sonakshi is happy about Shirish Kunder’s next. “Joker is special, because it’s the second one film I signed after Dabangg,” she says.

The film will see her opposite Akshay Kumar again. Are things easier while you work with a specific actor? “Yes. The more you’re employed with someone, the simpler you realize his/her form of working,” she says.
